Best Bet: Oklahoma vs. Texas A&M

Oklahoma has been on a heater lately. Most people counted them out, and rightfully so after a horrific start to the season. But, Porter Mosure is a really good coach. Most coaches would’ve lost the locker room, but Mosure kept his guys playing hard, and all the sudden they are a couple wins away from being in real conversation for an NCAA tourney bid. They HAVE to win this game against Texas A&M to have any shot of being in that discussion. Luckily for the Sooners, they have a couple things working in their favor. One, they’ve won 7 of their last 9 games, including 5 of those 7 wins by double digits. They also played last night and won, and they are facing an Aggies team who sat around watching. This tournament has been notorious for favoring teams who play in the early rounds against teams with a single bye. It’s the classic rust vs. rest, and it’s really hurt the team resting in conference tourneys over the past couple seasons. Lastly, I just think Oklahoma is a better team than Texas A&M. I made this line OU -2.1 and we currently sit A&M -2.5. I think the wrong team is favored here, and I wouldn’t even mess with the points. Take Oklahoma moneyline. If you want a little bit of protection, the teams that have rested have really struggled early on in games. And, you have a team in A&M who is a traditionally slow starter against an OU team that is better early. The Sooners’ losses this year have often come when imploding late. So if you want to split half the bet on the first half, and half the bet on the full game, that’s cool too.
